The Resting Room

Deep Rest & Sound

120 minutes dedicated entirely to rest

The school hall after dark: the windows deep blue, the floor lit by candles and low lamps, the gongs glowing at the centre of the mattresses.

Our signature Resting Room experience combines guided deep rest with an extended live acoustic sound journey.

Beginning with gentle guidance to help you settle, the experience gradually transitions into an immersive soundscape of gongs and resonant instruments. With time and space to completely switch off, you're invited to surrender to stillness, drift between wakefulness and sleep, and experience rest without expectation.

A longer, slower journey for those seeking a deeper escape from the demands of everyday life.

Suitable for anyone looking for an extended, immersive rest experience. No previous experience required.

What is a sound session?

Everything you hear is played live, in the room, on acoustic instruments: gongs, singing bowls, chimes and drums. There is no recording and no playlist. Two sessions never sound the same.

Large gongs carry a lot of low frequency, so a sound session is as much felt as heard. Lying on the floor, you notice it in your chest and in the backs of your hands before you notice it as a note.

You are not an audience and you are not in a class. Nobody demonstrates anything and there is nothing to follow, repeat or get right. You lie down, you close your eyes if you want to, and the sound does the work.

Most people drift. Some fall asleep. Both are fine. Neither is the point, because there isn't one.

What happens in a Deep Rest & Sound session

  1. Arriving

Come 20 minutes before your session starts. You will be shown to the mattress you booked, leave your shoes and anything you are carrying, and have time to settle before anything begins.

  2. Settling

The room quietens and the light comes down. The first part is gently guided, with a voice helping you let go of the day, so that you are already still before the sound begins.

  3. The sound

For most of the 120 minutes there is nothing to do at all. The instruments build, move around you and fall away again. You can lie on your back, curl up, shift position, or open your eyes and watch the ceiling. Nothing is asked of you.

  4. Coming back

The sound thins out rather than stops. You are brought back slowly, and there is time to sit up, drink some water and leave at your own pace.
